Healthy Living Christmas Gift Ideas

Finding the perfect Christmas present is nearly as tricky as making a healthy lifestyle change, and we know how tough that can be! Here are five healthy living gift ideas that don’t break the bank:

1. Ropeless Skipping Rope

When was the last time you skipped? Perhaps not since school? Skipping is a fantastic exercise that improves your reflexes, coordination, balance and agility. Rediscover skipping from the comfort of your living room. A 10-minute skip is said to give you the same benefits of an 8-minute run. Fitting in three 10-minute bursts of skipping into your day will do wonders for your health. This one is £5.99

2. Powerball

Strengthen your hands, wrists and arms using a Powerball. Exercising your arm and shoulder joints and muscles; this neat little gift improves hand and arm strength. It's a great rehab tool to counter the daily grind of regular keyboard and mouse use. Here's one you could try for £8.99.

3. Resistance Band

Work your core, arms, hips, legs and thighs with a simple piece of elastic. Again, all from the comfort of your own home! Look at the many resistance band workouts on YouTube for inspiration. Here's one for £7.99.

4. Joe's 30 minute Meals: 100 quick and healthy recipes

Healthy eating doesn't have to take all day. 'The Body Coach', Joe Wicks has created 100 recipes that you can cook up in within 30 minutes. 'Make a fuss-free, tasty plate of food, every single day'. All for £7.99.

Joe's also got some excellent hit workouts on YouTube.

5. Headspace

'Tis the season to be busy. Need a bit of headspace? Mindfulness is best described as it's complete opposite: mindlessness. Mindfulness helps us to relax and get those racing thoughts under control. Gift a loved one with some headspace this Christmas. Yours for £9.99.

How does this work?

The tailored approach LiveWell Dorset uses to come up with solutions to the things that are stopping us achieving our goals, is based upon work done by University College London developing the COM-B model of behaviour change. In this model, all behaviour is influenced by understanding a person’s capability to change, their opportunity to change and their motivation to change. By understanding which of these is the biggest barrier to change, we can tailor support accordingly. This model of behaviour change is at the centre of the support we offer, online and in person.
