Rice is a staple ingredient in a host of dishes – risotto, curry, kedgeree and paella, just to name a few! It is an essential ingredient to keep in your cupboards for quick, healthy meal prep.
Rice is an affordable source of important nutrients including carbohydrates and B vitamins, required for energy production. Be sure to choose wholegrain varieties of rice, which contain much more fibre and vitamins than their white counterparts. Here we run you through the basic steps for creating delicious, fluffy rice, every time.
Your rice is now ready to serve or use in another dish. Cooking rice well is a useful kitchen skill to learn but may take a few attempts; don’t be afraid to lift off the lid during the cooking process to check if it’s cooked. As with learning any new skill – practice makes perfect!
