At LiveWell Dorset, we often meet people who are keen to increase their levels of activity but who don't feel confident to do so.. Being self-conscious shouldn’t hold you back from achieving your goals, Sheela offers four tips on how you can get started:
- Do Your Research – Think about activities you have enjoyed in the past, or activities you think would be enjoyable and do some research online on the best way to get started.
- Enlist A Friend – You might find that you feel more confident exercising with a friend, so buddy up with a pal, colleague or family member and achieve your fitness goals together.
- Track Your Progress – By tracking your progress you will gain more confidence as you see your fitness levels improve; so, time your run or increase your levels of activity gradually.
- Look The Part – If you feel a bit self-conscious when exercising, then you could treat yourself to some new work out clothing, because if you look the part, you’ll feel the part!
