It's all about enjoying the social side of getting active and celebrating every small achievement on your journey to moving more.
Doing more exercise can feel much less daunting if you take a friend or family member along with you, and it’s great for your physical and mental wellbeing. Exercise can reduce your risk of major illnesses such as heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes and cancer by up to 50%.
There’s no need to spend hours in the gym or loads of money on top of the range gear. Any activity is better than doing nothing, whether that’s taking the stairs more, cycling to work or trying a new exercise class.
There are plenty of activities you can get involved in locally and many of them are free. Or if joining a group isn't your thing, there are loads of ways you can get active at home.
