Engage with LiveWell

Our Engagement Team work with partners to empower adults in Dorset take their next step to LiveWell.

Every day is different for the Engagement Team, but the message is always the same: we're here for your health and wellbeing. From attending local community events to supporting our NHS partners, we're working to deliver health prevention at scale. LiveWell is a behaviour change service. When you start the conversation, we'll continue it in the long-term. Partnership and collaboration with Dorset's voluntary and public services is essential as we make a difference for our communities, together.

The way we treat our bodies today has a lasting impact on our future health. We can all take steps to improve our health and wellbeing. Making a change can be tough, but it is possible! Don't face the journey alone, we can help you take control of your health.

MEET THE Engagement TEAM

We're a team promoting our services and encouraging people to change to a healthier, happier life.

Addy Sheppard

Training and Engagement Officer

I like the fact that every day is different and I have the pleasure of working with a team who are dedicated to helping people live healthier lives.

Lydia Turnbull

Network and Relationship Manager

Typically I'm out and about in Dorset promoting the health and wellbeing support available through LiveWell. The service provides support in many different ways so I really enjoy being able to spread the word about us amongst residents, workplaces, healthcare settings and everywhere in between. I'm inspired to engage as many Dorset residents with LiveWell to enable positive health behaviour changes and ensure we all have the opportunity to live healthy, happy and fulfilling lives.

Tracey Hudson

Engagement Coordinator

I do not have a typical day, as it changes constantly. Being the ‘face’ of LiveWell Dorset I am out and about actively promoting the services that we offer, from GP surgeries, attending events and networking with fellow stakeholders. The part I enjoy most about my role is being able to meet our clients face to face and know that we are making a difference. The positive feedback on how we have changed somebody’s life for the healthier!

Julia Calleja

Business Development Lead

The best thing about my work is that I get to see people changing their lives and shaping healthier happier futures. By joining LiveWell Dorset, I have become part of a genuinely caring and supportive team. Working for our community I feel I’m giving something back, which is good for my own wellbeing! In my spare time, I enjoy going to weekly slimming club meetings, playing walking netball and going on nature walks to meet new people

Mandy Grant

Training and Engagement Officer

My background in public health nursing has given me a passion to inspire healthy lifestyles for residents in Dorset. I love teaching and engaging with professionals as well as the general public to raise awareness about all the information and support that they can access for themselves or their clients from Livewell Dorset.

Stevie McCormick

Training and Engagement Officer

Dream big anything is possible! I believe we are capable of achieving whatever our heart desires. Working as a Training and Engagement Officer, I have the opportunity to engage and train health care professionals, workforces and residents across Dorset on how they can make small changes to live longer and healthier lives, supporting them to show up each day as the best version of themselves. I LiveWell by going for walks, dancing, spending quality time with my loved ones and journaling.

Polly Durrant

Business Development Coordinator

'Movement really matters' said a fitness instructor to me, which prompted my move away from a largely sedentary lifestyle. Once I'd grasped the importance of daily movement; balanced nutrition and mindfulness followed. I've never looked back! I LiveWell by setting myself a steps goal daily, running regularly and attending a local fitness programme designed for busy Mum's! Time outdoors with my family is always a priority at the weekend.

Got a question? Let's discuss how we can support you, your colleagues and the communities you serve.

How does this work?

The tailored approach LiveWell Dorset uses to come up with solutions to the things that are stopping us achieving our goals, is based upon work done by University College London developing the COM-B model of behaviour change. In this model, all behaviour is influenced by understanding a person’s capability to change, their opportunity to change and their motivation to change. By understanding which of these is the biggest barrier to change, we can tailor support accordingly. This model of behaviour change is at the centre of the support we offer, online and in person.
