Self-funding weight loss jabs? Get free support from LiveWell Dorset

Did you know that LiveWell Dorset offers free wraparound support and coaching to Dorset residents who are self-funding weight loss injections?

What do we mean by self-funded weight loss?

Self-funded weight loss usually means paying privately for treatments such as weight loss injections, rather than accessing them through the NHS.

Medications like Mounjaro are becoming more widely used, and many people are choosing this route to support their weight loss journey.

If you’re self-funding your treatment and have a BMI of 25 or above, you can access free weight management support from LiveWell Dorset, helping you make the most of this opportunity to create lasting change.

Why support matters

Choosing self-funded weight loss gives you access to treatment, but long-term success depends on what happens alongside it.

Medication can reduce cravings and get visible results in a relatively short space of time, but it doesn’t build long-lasting healthy habits. This is why many people put weight back on after stopping weight-loss injections.

Without support, it can be harder to maintain progress, especially when treatment comes to an end.

Our LiveWell coaches can help you:

  • Set realistic, achievable goals
  • Create a long-term plan that works for you
  • Build healthy habits that last beyond the medication

How does this work?

The tailored approach LiveWell Dorset uses to come up with solutions to the things that are stopping us achieving our goals, is based upon work done by University College London developing the COM-B model of behaviour change. In this model, all behaviour is influenced by understanding a person’s capability to change, their opportunity to change and their motivation to change. By understanding which of these is the biggest barrier to change, we can tailor support accordingly. This model of behaviour change is at the centre of the support we offer, online and in person.
