How we're different

No matter your experience or daily schedule, we'll help you achieve what you need to do to live a healthier lifestyle.

The key thing that makes us different to other health and wellbeing providers is our use of evidence-based behavioural science, developed by University College London to support you to sustain changes in your behaviour.

Most people just need a little bit of help, a brief intervention or a nudge in the right direction. For those that need a little more help, LiveWell Dorset provides personalised, one-to-one coaching.

Emma Rossi

Service Manager

Before joining Live Well I was responsible for adult homelessness services in Somerset which included managing a day centre and an outreach team. Previous to that I was a Health Inclusion Worker. I love working with people and feel passionate about supporting people on the fringes of our communities to bridge inequalities in health and wellbeing. I have worked in this sector for over ten years now.

Julie-Ann Booker-Gibbs

Wellness Coach Team Lead

I was inspired to join the LWD team by the approach of the service to support the diverse population of Dorset on the basis that every resident is an individual and the support offered is on a long term basis. Every day people are helped to gain knowledge and resources to improve their health, but also coached to develop the skills to take control of their health choices and behaviours. The LWD team show genuine commitment to engaging positively with as many people as possible to achieve improved health outcomes for all.

Sharon Taylor

Wellness Coach

I joined LWD because I wanted to work in an inspiring environment that supports and encourages people to lead healthier lifestyles. What I particularly enjoy about being a Coach, is seeing how even making small lifestyle adjustments can have a massive impact on wellbeing.

Addy Sheppard

Wellness Coach

I like the fact that every day is different and I have the pleasure of working with a team who are dedicated to helping people live healthier lives.

Sheela Hobden

Wellness Coach

No two days are the same for me! I could be coaching a client over the telephone on getting more active, then heading out to an organisation to deliver training on managing stress and building resilience. I would then spend time reviewing the training evaluation, preparing for more training delivery the next day, and considering options for coaching clients.

Matt Folley

Wellness Coach

I have joined LWD for the simple reason that the whole team at LWD are wanting to offer and achieve the best outcome for our clients. I am very passionate about health and wellbeing and I have always enjoyed supporting clients to achieve their goals of making positive changes for their health and wellbeing.

How does this work?

The tailored approach LiveWell Dorset uses to come up with solutions to the things that are stopping us achieving our goals, is based upon work done by University College London developing the COM-B model of behaviour change. In this model, all behaviour is influenced by understanding a person’s capability to change, their opportunity to change and their motivation to change. By understanding which of these is the biggest barrier to change, we can tailor support accordingly. This model of behaviour change is at the centre of the support we offer, online and in person.
