How we're different

No matter your experience or daily schedule, we'll help you take steps towards a healthier lifestyle.

The key thing that makes us different to other health and wellbeing providers is our use of evidence-based behavioural science, developed by University College London to support you to sustain changes in your behaviour.

Most people just need a little bit of help, a brief intervention or a nudge in the right direction. For those that need a little more help, LiveWell Dorset provides personalised, one-to-one coaching.

Emma Rossi

Service Manager

Before joining Live Well I was responsible for adult homelessness services in Somerset which included managing a day centre and an outreach team. Previous to that I was a Health Inclusion Worker. I love working with people and feel passionate about supporting people on the fringes of our communities to bridge inequalities in health and wellbeing. I have worked in this sector for over ten years now.

Daniel Amatt

I am so pleased to be a part of the LiveWell team and love that my role gives me the opportunity to use my skills and experience to support people to make positive changes to their lives in a way that works for them. I live well by getting plenty of fresh air, exercise and good food.

Completing my Master's degree in Nutrition, Physical Activity and Public Health, made me realise that I wanted to use my knowledge to empower people to be the happiest and healthiest versions of themselves! I LiveWell by going to the gym, running, swimming and walking with my puppy.

Susan Ward

I love planting that first positive “I can do this” seed in someone’s mind and seeing them start to blossom to their full potential. The holistic approach of Livewell Dorset is what works so well.

I live well by letting my dogs drag me around the countryside, yoga, kayaking and being mindful.

I’m passionate about fitness and nutrition, to maintain a healthy body and mindset, I believe in doing so promotes positivity and overall; a good level of wellbeing. At LiveWell Dorset, I feel privileged to have the opportunity to help guide and support people through a journey. I LiveWell by swimming, cycling, walking/hiking, and visiting the gym - and being outdoors in the fresh air with nature, exploring the beautiful Dorset countryside.

Wendy Thompson

I feel honored to be part of the Live well Dorset Team. I love being alongside people as they make changes and celebrate "wins" however small and pay attention to how these changes impact on mood and wellbeing. I live well by ensuring I get plenty of sunlight and fresh air through incorporating simple walks into my daily routine. I also attend activity classes at my local gym as this help me to feel stronger and more energized.

Andrea Fellows

LiveWell Coach

I'm delighted to be working with LiveWell Dorset and helping others to achieve positive changes in their lives, no matter how small. I love the outdoors and can be found mucking about on the water or walking in Dorset’s glorious countryside

How does this work?

The tailored approach LiveWell Dorset uses to come up with solutions to the things that are stopping us achieving our goals, is based upon work done by University College London developing the COM-B model of behaviour change. In this model, all behaviour is influenced by understanding a person’s capability to change, their opportunity to change and their motivation to change. By understanding which of these is the biggest barrier to change, we can tailor support accordingly. This model of behaviour change is at the centre of the support we offer, online and in person.
