A health scare during a friend's 50th birthday party prompted Paul to take control of his health. Years of smoking, alcohol and inactivity had caught up with him. Fast-forward six months and he's taken control of his healthy living.

Ivan got in touch with us in August 2017. He'd received a text inviting him to attend an NHS Health Check at his local surgery. The nurse highlighted the importance of him losing some weight and reducing his blood pressure. She passed him our contact card, but he didn't have high hopes of it achieving anything. He tried us out anyhow and didn't regret it!
Lynette started smoking when she was 16-years-old, joining her mum Maureen who also smoked. They contacted us in 2017 for help to lose weight. We also talked to them about their smoking, and earlier this year they were inspired to kick the habit of a lifetime.
In January 2017 whilst spending time with his 13-month old grandson, Bernie realised it was time to change. Mick has tried several different diets with little success, which made him lose enthusiasm for weight loss. He has found his Slimming World group to be great socially and he has made new friends who understand his weight loss journey. He enjoys the food options available at Slimming World which allows healthy full meals which also contribute to weight loss. His wife, Beverly, has also started Slimming World via a referral from LiveWell Dorset and has so far lost one and a half stone.
After recovering from cancer, Owen was diagnosed with diabetes. Weighing 18 stone, he struggled to walk up hills, often becoming out of breath and having to stop. "My clothes are too big and I have had to buy new ones!"
